The Star_A Song Poem
I see a star
Deep in the jungle
Farthest point from human kind
It feel from the sky
It sits in the grass
And it's skin kills the creatures that taste it.
I saw the star before
Sometime last week
It was traveling on the road on the side of a truck
It made it's way to small towns
It found it's way to tv
And it's shape filled my people's hearts so they could only see stars
The star gives good
the Star replaces all
It makes more stars and leaves none to remember it was there
Those who see it go blind
My people think they need it
The star only has one purpose; to remain on top
And when it fell...it was hit by the opposition. Down from the sky leaving a burning star of smoke behind it.

the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
that I nev
