Because you might need this explained: When you're in the factory of Mother 1 with Loid, you get the Butter Knife. This is Teddy's weapon LONG before you actually get Teddy in your party. By the time you get Teddy in your party you can pick up a better weapon for him so there is NO point in holding onto the Butter Knife for that long in the game. What else you gonna do with it until then?... Butter the rats you run into... Now eat the rat, Loid!
