UPDATE: Here is a good scan of a good print version. Here is a colored version> [link] .
Here is what the lino plate looked like before I cut it up to make this. > [link]

I did this on a lino sheet, I didn't count how many hours it took me, I forgot, but it was over the course of a couple of school days. I made so many different prints of this to get it just right, this one was printed with oil based ink, and that wasn't working so I switched to water based ink and the newer prints are beautiful(er). But on this monitor this looks really bad. I saved it as a .jpg before I decided to make edits, instead of just working from the photoshop file, so I lost information on it. I am thinking of painting some water color background and printing this over it so that way it'll have some color.

There isn't enough love for the great director. After watching alot of his movies you see a trend repeat (biggest one is an innocent man accused of murder and trying to proove his innocences) so in that way they get kinda boring but he does the suspense so well you forgive the repeating storyline. Each movie has it's own catch. Dail M for Murder is quite boring (as a movie, would be more enjoyable as a play like it was written for) but while our main woman is on the phone you see her murder sneak up behind her and you can't hold it in. Then as they're struggling, you're certain that they're going to get away with the murder at this point, but then she stabs him in the back with the scissors, and she survives. After watching Psycho again (with a different mind) you really see how shocking the shower scene is. For a good while it's very quiet and she's just tacking a bath and the man leaves the other room, and (if you weren't expecting her to get killed, everybody knows that she gets killed after all these years for parodies of the part) you're horrified to see a figure walk in the bathroom, and then the whole murder takes place in little bits and pieces darting all over the screen. Then the eye draw back and having to watch him clean up the body.

My favorite movies of his, would be North By Northwest, Frenzy, Vertigo, and the Birds. It's hard not to appreciate his other movies though it's just compared to the others they aren't as good. Like Rear Window is a great movie, it's so simple that it makes a great Hitchcock starter movie for people who haven't seen them before. It's got great characters and a moment that makes you scream out loud a little (the part where he comes back into the house while the girl is still in there and when Jimmy is about to fall off the window.)

The Birds would be better if it wasn't so out of date but I love it because it's really terrifying if you think about it. It's just about random chaos with no reason or remorse. It's so technically amazing because they had to work with real birds and make it look real. There is alot of metaphors in the movie, such as the birds are triggered by the mother's fear of a woman tacking away her children, she doesn't want them to fly the coop. When Tipper gets attacked by the birds in the 2cd floor, it's quite sexual as she calls out her boyfriend's name in a fainted breath. Sad part is, they movie suffers from stupid people syndrome, where you yell at the TV/Movie screen telling them "Don't go in there! You should know better!" Alot of things that could have been easily avoided if people were thinking. Regardless, it is a terrifying movie in it's deep rooted concept, I would say that it's one movie that needs to get remade to a modern appeal.

Looks pretty good bud. Don't forget, there's a natural "bubbling" around the edges when you use soft mediums like linoleum or rubber. All things considered I think it looks pretty tight. His ear looks kinda oddly angular but I wouldn't cut it down because it might get too small.
