Figure the more colored work I do, the more feed back I'll get on this idea. I played with paintbrushes in photoshop. It might be too busy but I wanted a textured look with a semi 70's background feel. If there a correct term to the swirling liquid patterns they had at the end of Billy and Mandy. I love those things and they come from the 70s...anyway I just made something up myself.
I'm gonna have another good picture of Eddie soon with falter colors and testing out what scheme I like best.
characters and pitch are well put together, the character himself looks quite superb, capturing that toon essence oh so WELL! I'd like to see more devlopment on this idea ; )
The coloring does remind me a lot of Super Jail, but that's not a bad thing
I noticed most cartoons these days have turned to bathroom humor because it doesn't take any thought to get a laugh. I hope Eddie Eel will lean more towards wise-cracking and bizarre humor.
I like the idea and concept behind this show, and that (mixed with the style) makes me think of an amalgam between Super Jail and Spongebob Squarepants, with a little bit of Pee Wee's Playhouse mixed in for flavor.
Music does help in the overall essence of a show, and a good enough theme will have you thinking of that series often, even when the show isn't on. Honestly, some songs I hear that sound anything like my favorite show triggers that series in my mind.
I really like what you're doing with this, and I can only describe some of what's on today as "gonzo" in its style, presentation, and acceptance by the hoi polloi. Not all shows look that great but, in this weird look, it offers a zany goodness that keeps the viewer attracted. Considering the things you've created before, I know you can pull this off quite well.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us all. Keep up the goodness, and may you have good fortune upon all of your creative endeavors.
